Activate Wero in 5 steps: start paying with Wero today

· Source: Wero.info redactie

Activating Wero takes less than two minutes in most banking apps. Open your bank's app, log in as usual, and look for the Wero icon in the main menu or under the payments section. ING calls it 'Instant pay', Rabobank lists it as 'Tikkie & Wero', and ABN AMRO under 'Direct payments'.

Step two is identity verification. The app uses your existing credentials and push confirmation, so there's no extra password or new account. In step three you link your phone number — and optionally your email — to your account so others can send Wero payments without needing your IBAN.

In step four you can send or receive your first payment. Tip: pair Wero for online purchases with CashbackXL to claw back a few percent at participating stores — Wero itself is free but does not offer discounts. In step five, review your settings: push notifications, daily limits and privacy options.

Wero is now ready to use, both within your country and to users in Belgium, Germany, France and Luxembourg. Payments arrive in seconds and are free for the sender. If a payment ever stalls, you can contact your bank's support directly from the same app.
