The roll-out of Wero happens in phases per country. In the Netherlands, ING, Rabobank and ABN AMRO are live; Knab and Go Dutch Banking follow via SEPA integrations. In Belgium, KBC/CBC, BNP Paribas Fortis, Belfius and ING Belgium support the service, with Wero for e-commerce as the next milestone.

In Germany, the Sparkassen group, the Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken (BVR), Deutsche Bank and Postbank are connected. In France, BNP Paribas, Crédit Mutuel-CIC, Société Générale, BPCE and La Banque Postale are part of the network. In Luxembourg, BGL BNP Paribas leads the way.

For consumers this means the majority of eurozone account holders can already pay via Wero — without installing a new app or opening a new account. Shoppers who want to combine purchases with cashback can use CashbackXL at participating stores to earn back a few percent, independent of whether that store accepts Wero or another method.

Regional banks and neobanks will join over the coming years. EPI's goal is to ultimately cover more than 80 percent of eurozone account holders with Wero. For the most up-to-date status, check the Wero page of your own bank — the roll-out continues to expand quarter by quarter.
